Day Fourteen

Finally we're in Belgium. we are so close, but so far. We got to see a little bit of Belgium while we waited for the plane to arrive for our next flight to JFK airport. The flight to Belgium was long and it was delayed due to a passenger acting out before we took off. We are about to get on our plane and we are glad to finally be on the move home again.

Day Thirteen

Today we are flying from Jaipur to Brussels. We are sad to leave India and end our fantastic vacation, but are also happy that we are coming to to see our families. Both Logan and Andrew were happy to be reunited with their cats. The flight is going to be long and the worst way to end a vacation, but it's either that or a really long boat ride. We will post again once we arrive in Belgian and eat some Belgian Waffles.

Day Twelve

File:Amber-fort.jpgToday we visited the Amber Palace. The Amber Palace is located in Jaipur India and it was the ancient citadel of the ruling Kachhawa clan of Amber. The palace borders the Maota Lake, and is a major tourist attraction in Jaipur. We toured the Palace from top to bottom and saw all there is to see there. We learned about the previous uses of the palace, and about the uses it has today. The best part was when we lost Mishal. We played a joke on him where we sent him back to get the group maps and said that we would would wait right there, but we didn't. The min he was out of view we all took off in the opposite direction. I took him over 30 minutes for him to find him. Today was not very exciting but we still had a great time.

Day Eleven

This morning we flew to Jiapour India to take a ride on a very large elephants back.  Throught the city of Jiapour there are many companys that soliciate elephant rides, the outfitter we chose has about 15 elephants.  After we flew in we took a short taxi ride to the outfitter where we were each assisnged an elephant.  After mounting the elephants they told the basic rules of riding an elephant effectivly.  After the guide said that we were not allowed touch their ears or else we would upset them, Andrew went and touched the ear and was almost dismounted by the elephants trunk.  We rode around the city as well as the surrunding desert for almost 5 hours.  After returning from the outfitters we decided to go out for a walk around the city.  We saw many cool buildings in Jiapour.  Today was a great day and by far one of the best we've had in India.

Day Ten

Today we decided to visit the Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum in Mumbai to see where Gandhi lived. While we were there, we saw where Gandhi was arrested and even got to see Gandhi's room! We also got to see Gandhi's old spinning wheel, which we were told that in many ways it symbolized the struggle for independence, and now appears on the Indian flag. Inside the museum, we got to see Inside the library of Gandhi-related works. The library had about 50,000 books and periodicals, photographs, posters, slogans, and other items that document and explain Gandhi's life. One of the awesome things about visiting this museum is that it was completely free, the only expense was traveling to see it. Tomorrow we fly to Jaipur to continue our fun activities.
