Today is our first day of true sight seeing. We are heading to the Taj Mahal in Agra, the previous capital of India during the reign of the Mughal Empire. The Taj Mahal is a tomb for Shah Jahan's wife, Mumtaz Mahal. We have gotten tickets to go inside and cannot wait. It will be a three hour drive to get there. We will be going in an autorickshaw, which is similar to a taxi, only smaller and with no doors. It is very cheap to pay for one of these, and we can squeeze four people in the back and one more with the driver. After going to the Taj Mahal, we will tour the city of Agra. Then, we will go to the gardens there. We will post again tomorrow after the trip.
