Day Four

Yesterday was great!!! We learned a great deal on the Mughal empire that ruled India from the years 1526 to 1858. We went to the Taj Mahal, which is located in Agra, a city near New Dehli. Today we are going site seeing around New Dehli. We went to a really cool museum in New Dehli called The National Museum of India. We learned a lot about the interesting history of India. We also got to go to a Hindu temple. Mishal showed us the different gods that were in the temple, and he started praying for about ten minutes. We had removed our shoes prior to entering, and we were blessed by the priest who was there. He did a ceremonial prayer, and stopped at times to give the idols flowers or light a stick, which he rotated around the idol as an offering. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel. We are about to go to sleep, and then go to Chennai tomorrow, which is near the Southern tip of India. That is where Mishal's grandparents live, which is where we will be for Diwali, a large festival this Friday. We'll post again tomorrow.
